The X-plore 8000 has evolved from advanced Dräger technology, to ensure individuals working in the harshest environments remain safe and protected – allowing them to concentrate on the job at hand.

In any situation where there is a chance workers could be exposed to contaminated air such as asbestos fibres, the X-plore 8000 provides optimal air purification. The risks to workers from asbestos are serious. According to recent HSE statistics, an average 20 tradespeople die from asbestos related diseases every week. An estimated 1.3 million people are still potentially at risk of being exposed to microscopic asbestos fibres that can prove fatal if breathed in.

Workers involved in the refurbishment, repair and maintenance of buildings are thought to be most at risk from asbestos and keeping them safe is vital. The X-plore 8000 is able to protect workers in the toughest environments.

It features a robust and durable design making it ideal for daily use in situations such as building sites and harsh construction areas. It has been designed to provide the best possible protection, whilst enabling the wearer to focus fully on their day-to-day tasks.

Combining comfort and intuitive handling with intelligent electronics for maximum safety, the unit recognises the connected headgear and automatically adjusts to the correct minimum flow rate.

Gavin Peacock, from Dräger, said: “We’re very excited to launch the new X-plore 8000 to the market. It marks a significant improvement to our current PAPR portfolio and offers users the highest safety, comfort and reliability under the most challenging conditions.

“The air we breathe is the most fundamental element of life and we know that when faced with respiratory hazards such as asbestos on a daily basis, our customers want to be able to get the job done whilst knowing they’re safe and protected. The X-plore 8000 is a product you can trust and it offers everyone across a broad range of industry sectors, the security they need to get on with the job.

“As with all our new products, we have undergone extensive field trials and testing, with a lot of very positive feedback from our customers and distributors.”

But the X-plore 8000 is much more than just asbestos control.

Fully customisable to meet your respiratory needs, the X-plore can be tailored your individual needs with a range of compatible filters and headpieces including welding visors, hard hats and disposable hoods.

In any situation where respiratory hazards are present, the importance of a full understanding of the dangers and appropriate training is essential.
