National Hygiene Week 2021
For many of us, having access to clean water and hygiene products is something we take for granted, but in the UK alone there are over 14 million people living in hygiene poverty that don’t have access to such resources.
Founded in 2018, The Hygiene Bank believes that being clean shouldn’t be a luxury or a privilege reserved only for those who can afford it. That’s why their mission is to bring together communities, businesses and thought leaders to tackle hygiene poverty in the UK.
This year for National Hygiene Week, we are being encouraged to “Look Up” and help tackle hygiene poverty in our communities.
You can do this through donating money or hygiene products such as shampoo, soap or sanitary products to your local Hygiene Bank branch, or by taking part in a challenge, panel or auction.
Here at Full Support, we were so impressed with the values and work of this brilliant charity, that we wanted to help out any way we could.
When face masks became mandatory in public places in July 2020, this vital resource needed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 was something that was out of reach for many people living in hygiene poverty.
That’s why we partnered with The Hygiene Bank to donate more than 1.3 million face masks for the charity to use and distribute to their local communities.
“We could not believe it when 25 boxes arrived! We cannot thank you enough! Facemasks are quite expensive to buy when you don’t have much of a budget so these will really help our local community.” – The Hygiene Bank, Ballymena
We continue to be humbled by the amazing feedback from not only The Hygiene Bank, but all of the other charities we have had the pleasure of partnering with in the last 15 months, working together to donate 20.8 million face masks (so far!) to those who need them most.
If you or someone you know represents a school, charity or good cause that could benefit from a donation of free face masks, you can request your donation here: www.fullsupporthealthcare.com/request-your-donation-of-free-face-masks/
