Type IIR Face Masks are made out of a protective three-ply construction primarily to catch droplets, from spreading to or from the wearer.

Type IIR Face Masks generally are suitable for non infectious containment, such as splashes. Their loose-fitting construction means that small airborne particles found in respiratory viruses can still spread to and from the wearer.

FFP3 (Filtering Face Piece) Respirators are made out of multiple layers of polypropylene microfibre filtering materials which have been tested to have a 99%+ filtration efficiency against particles when fitted correctly. P3 filtering respirators are the ideal solution for protecting staff against airborne particles and limiting the spread of infection, such as when caring for patients with flu.

FFP3 respirators provide the highest level of protection for frontline healthcare workers.
