RPE Training
As with all health and safety equipment, RPE will not be effective if it is not worn or fitted correctly.
Studies have shown that as many as 76% of RPE users incorrectly put on RPE. A figure that dramatically decreases with proper education and training.
THE NEED FOR TRAINING
When you consider that RPE is used as a last line of defence against potentially fatal respiratory hazards, literally thousands of people every day are unnecessarily putting their life at risk due to a lack of training. In fact, the HSE estimate that around 12,000 deaths each year are attributed to workplace exposure of respiratory hazards.
It’s about time we fixed this.
